The following people have donated their skills to help me bring this fundraiser into fruition.
I would like to thank Amie Blanco, MS Genetic Counselor, UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Gastrointestinal Cancer Prevention Program. She has been wonderful during this entire process. Her support has been indispensable for me and my family regarding Lynch Syndrome. I could not ask for anyone better!
I would also like to thank my good friend Brian Fong for being my creative partner in all of this. He is responsible for masterminding this marvelous website and designing the t-shirt. Brian, you rock! I would also like to thank Aislinn Race for teaching me to update the website.
Many thanks go to Korey Luna, Marjorie Eunice Sosa, Sammy Totah, Abby and Jason for contributing their unique talents to the website. All donated their time generously and did exceptional work to the success of the website and organization. Korey Luna is the official photographer and his photos add a memorable and impressive touch. Without Marjorie Eunice Sosa the website could not be available in Spanish. With her bilingual assistance we can reach our message to many others. Sammy Totah for donating his music to this site and will hopefully captivate more to donate. Abby and Jason, the organization's merchandise officers, for doing an exceptional job making DetectTheMutation T-shirts and cinch bags.
Thank you Aicha Idelcadi and April Rodriguez for you help in video blogging
I would like to dedicate this website to my family. Their support has been outstanding in regards to this effort. I hope DetectTheMutation will not only be helpful for my family, but for other families with Lynch Syndrome. I would also like to thank my mom, Olga G. Martínez, for always encouraging me to accomplish my goals.
Lastly, I would like to thank my father, Nazarío P. Martínez Jr., a two time cancer survivor. Without his patience, cooperation, strength and support to be genetically tested (for Lynch Syndrome) none of this would have been possible. I'm so proud to be his daughter because through him and his experience with cancer, I have learned the power of never giving up-on dreams, goals or life, even when the odds may be against you. This was an extensive process, but knowing is incredibly powerful. This was a truly inspiring journey.
